Virtual School Office

Session Times

The school day begins at 8.55am when the bell is rung in the playground and the children go to their classes. (The children are supervised from 8.45am. Before that time they are the responsibility of parents.) Registers are taken as soon as the children are in their classrooms. The caretaker locks the playground gates at 9.00am; children arriving after this time should be signed in at the school office. The gates are unlocked at 2.50pm and the school days ends at 3.00pm.

Lunch time: 11.40am - 1.40pm.

Absences from school

The school must be informed in writing if children are to be absent for any reason, for example for a dentist's appointment; in the case of illness the office must be telephoned on the first day of absence.

Leave of absence during term time

Headteachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. It is also the headteacher's responsbility to determine the number of school days a child can be away from school if the leave is granted. If you need to seek an absence during term time you will have to complete a Leave of Absence form which is available to download from the list on the left of this page. You will need to outline the exceptional cirucmstances that require the leave of absence and supportive evidence may be needed. Each application will be assessed on an individual basis by the headteacher and chair of governors and they must be satisfied that the circumstances warrant the granting of leave. All applications will be considered in the light of a child's attendance. Even in exceptional circumstances the request may not be considered if your child's attendance is below 95%.

Universal Infant Free School Meals

All pupils in reception, year 1 and year 2 in state-funded schools in England are eligible for a free school meal. We would encourage all children to take up this offer. Pupil Premium funding, extra grant money the government gives the school to support children from lower income families, and in turn the whole school, will still be allocated according to eligibility for Free School Meals. Therefore we would also encourage all parents who think they meet the criteria for Free School Meals (see below) to apply, either online on www.warwickshire.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals or by telephone on 01926 359189.

You must be claiming one of these benefits to qualify for Free School Meal Pupil Premium funding:

A.  Income Support   or   B.  Income-based Job Seeker's Allowance

C.  Child Tax Credit with an annual income assessed by HMRC of less than £16,190. If you or your partner are entitled to Working Tax Credit you do not qualify for free school meals regardless of income

D.  The Guarnatee Element of State Pension Credit

E.  Support under Part VI of Immigration & Asylum Act 1999

F.  Employment and Support Allowance (Income-Related)
