Pupil & PE Premium

Pupil Premium

The pupil premium funding was introduced in April 2011 and is allocated to schools to work with pupils who have been registered for free school meals (FSM) at any point in the last six years. The government believes that the pupil premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for FSM and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.

Schools are free to spend the pupil premium as they see fit, but are held accountable for how they have used the additional funding. They are required to publish online information about how they have used it.

See below for information on how much pupil premium Emscote Infant School receives and how we have allocated the funding:

PE and Sport Premium

The PE and sport premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils. The government is spending £150 million a year for academic years 2013 to 2014 and 2014 to 2015, with a view to potentially extending this funding to academic year 2015 to 2016.
